Moving Wall Visits New Mexico
AMVETS Riders of Chapter 14, Clovis, N.M., along with members of other veterans motorcycle groups, pose in front of “The Moving Wall” during its March 12-18 visit to Clovis. "The Moving Wall" is an 80 percent scale replica of the Washington, D.C., Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has been touring the country for more than twenty years.•


Missouri Riders Recognized
at State Picnic

Chapter 91 Riders Give to Indiana Veterans Hospital
Bull Durham, AMVETS Riders Chapter 91 President, presents a new 32” television to Cal Cree, Indiana Veterans Home Administrator. The Riders of Chapter 91, Monticello, Ind., were able to purchase a new 32” Flat Screen HDTV from funds generated from their first “Bull Roast.”
Chapter 91 donated a new TV for the residents at the IVH in West Lafayette Ind. The residents had been previously watching on a small 12” black and white TV.•


Indiana Supports Special Olympics
Nearly 1,400 AMVETS, Special Olympians, and their friends and family members participated in the annual Special Olympics for Bowling in Indianapolis event hosted Dec. 16-17 2006 by the Department of Indiana. Bull Durham, president of the Indiana AMVETS Riders, pictured right with friend Troy Martin, was proud to take part in the two-day event.”To me, it’s rewarding to see the people smile and have a good day, and this is a good program for AMVETS, also,” Durham said. “Once you’ve made a friend here, you’ve made a friend for life.”•

If you are interested in starting your own AMVETS Riders Chapter, the list below will serve as a guideline to the AMVETS National Headquarters charter process.To be considered as an official AMVETS Riders Chapter you must submit a constitution and bylaws, along with the items listed below to the AMVETS Executive Director or National Commander.   1. Charter Application
  2. Officer Revalidation Form
  3. EIN Number (cannot use Post Number) – this is an IRS requirement.
